We often hear people say that it is harvest time and we all agree. But what does that mean really? Well, think with me for a moment and let’s look at the Scripture…
Jesus said in John 12:24 speaking of Himself, “ I say to you that unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” In other words Jesus was saying that he was a lone grain of a new order of life and of a coming harvest and that unless he died he would remain alone. And this was not the intention of God. For God is glorified by bringing many sons unto glory (Hebrews 2:10).
You see Christ did not come to reform the flesh but rather to sow a new order of being into the world. The seed He used was Himself and in this sense He was the only begotten of the Father and will forever remain so, but by His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection He has now become the first born of many brethren. In Christ we are a new order of being; a new man, spiritually connected to the life force of God. As this new order of being we are growing up into the full measure and complete stature of Christ. We are the “many grains” which are the harvest of His planting. He is the vine but we are the branches. We are complete in Him and have been commissioned to go into the whole world and harvest the yet multiplying grain that have come as a result of the seed He has planted. It is Harvest Time!
The devil cannot stop you! The world cannot stop you! For God has called, justified, and glorified you for the purpose of His eternal plan. You have been ordained and commissioned to be where you are doing what you are doing. Go forth in His power and overcome!
